Hands of Hypocrisy (Caiaphas)

You can learn things about a person by looking closely at their hands. If you see someone with rough, heavily calloused hands, you know they probably do not have an office job. If you notice someone has ragged fingernails—the result of biting them off—you might conclude they are anxious about something. Hands are all about action. So much of what we do involves hands. And what we do (more than what we say) indicates our true priorities and passions.

In this midweek Lenten series, we are looking at The Hands of the Passion. Look at how people use their hands in this solemn season: accepting money for betrayal; petulantly swinging swords; used for brutality. There is even a set of hands that are pierced.

Let us examine The Hands of the Passion to see what they tell us about the nature of sin and the love of our Savior. Through this series, Christ Jesus intends to touch us with his hands of grace.
